El Retablo de Maese Pedro - XIX Festival Internacional de Teatro con Títeres, Objetos y Visual



El Retablo de Maese Pedro was a theatre production based in the homonymous musical work by Manuel de Falla (1923). 

This modern version, shown in Teatro Alhambra, during the XIX Festival Internacional de Teatro con Títeres, Objetos y Visual (2017), involved the Orchestra of University of Granada playing synchronously with an animation proyected in a cinema screen -who represents the events depicted in the original work of Manuel de Falla, but using digital puppets instead of traditional ones. The art team was in charge of develop the animation proyected, which involved a work of character design, illustration and animation.

Different models for carolingian and umayyad soldiers following the puppets basic structure.

For the soldiers, a system of interchangeable pieces was used in order to give a homogeneus appearance to each one of the two armies. This system also allows to create a high number of different models.
